Charlie Hall (pictured) and Mike Thomas -  Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultants

Enter the hidden world of the voice and vocal chords with ENT consultants Charlie Hall and Mike Thomas.

You will be able to view a live videostroboscopy – the view you get of the voicebox and vocal chords on a high definition screen when an endoscope is used to take a look inside the throat.

Astonishing slowed-down images show how our voices form and how the voice works and what happens when it goes wrong.

Video will be used to represent laser voice procedures and you will have the opportunity to see and hold delicate voice operating instruments.

There will be the opportunity for you to experience phonosurgery simulation –  trying your hand at delicate voice surgery within a computer simulated model.

3D anatomical models will be used to help explain what our voicebox looks like, while computer printouts show how every voice has its own individual signature.
