The Gloucestershire Ophthalmology department and the Eye Therapy Trust are holding an open day on Saturday 13th March at Cheltenham General Hospital

Our successful Eye Unit is offering visitors the rare opportunity to look around and find out what work our departments undertakes and ask questions.

There will be displays and talks on Age related macular degeneration, Vitrectomy, Glaucoma, Childhood ophthalmic conditions, Eye casualty, Use of Botulinum toxin in Ophthalmology, Laser treatment, the Eye therapy trust, and Gloucestershire County association for the blind, and 3D images taken with the new retinal imaging system.

Visitors will also include representatives from The Eye Therapy Trust who has donated over £250,000 over the past few years to the department.

Quresh Mohamed: “This is an exciting opportunity to share what we do, and for local residents to see clinics, talk to staff and see the equipment and facilities we have available for patients in Gloucestershire”

The theatres, Day Unit and clinic will be open for people to look around with medical and nursing staff on duty from 9am to 12pm.
