HCCOSC Congratulations
14/09/2010
The Health, Community and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee praised the Trust’s continuing commitment to infection control at the meeting on 13th September
Dr Frank Harsent, GHNHSFT Chief Executive presented a report to the committee which contained the following information:
09/10 10/11 (4 months)
MRSA Actual 6 1(4 months)
MRSA Target 5 6(annual)
CDiff Actual 126 38(4 months)
CDIff Target 192 128(annual)
HCCOSC singled out Trust staff for their good work on keeping the MRSA and CDiff figures low through ongoing hard work on issues such as hand washing before and after patient contact..
In 2009/10 the South West SHA launched a 5 year safety initiative with the aim of
reducing avoidable harm. The work involves staff, doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists and scientists learning from each other. Through this programme staff have been able to share examples of good practice and learn from the experiences of others.
Further information about our Safety and Patient Experience activities can be found in our Quality Account, to which the County’s Health, Community and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee (HCCOSC) contributed, and is available from the office of the Director of Clinical Strategy or from our website:
