New-look Bedside Folders give Patients a Clearer Picture
07/07/2010
New bedside information folders for patients and carers are being launched this week at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The folder is also available to view on the Trust website.
Promising clearer, more relevant, and easy-to-read information about the hospitals, patients and carers can expect to find exactly what they’re looking for with ease. Developed in consultation with a broad spectrum of staff and patient representatives, the Trust is hoping the new-look folders will make coming into hospital a little less daunting.
The new layouts feature an updated, significantly improved design, as well as a detailed index, guide to staff uniforms, an introduction in 9 languages and Braille version. In common with the diversity and equality that’s at the heart of the modern NHS, it’s designed to appeal to all patients.
Head of Patient Experience Gill Brook: “The new folders were developed in response to our patients, who told us that they wanted a one-stop reference guide to answer their questions. From privacy and dignity concerns through to food and drink, we think we’ve got it all covered in an easy-to-read, thoughtful manner.”
