Statement: Snow and Winter Pressures
21/12/2010
Evelyn Barker, Deputy Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “As you would expect our hospitals are very busy at the moment as we deal with both the usual winter pressures and an increase in admissions caused by the bad weather.
“Our A&E departments are particularly busy and staff have been working round the clock to treat the high number of people coming through our doors with injuries caused by slips and falls. It is important to remember, however, that the Trust is used to dealing with busy periods, especially at this time of year.
“The Trust Board would very much like to thank all our staff for their continuing support and help in making sure that we continue to deliver the best possible patient care during this difficult time.”
