Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has signed a Project Agreement with Vinci Park Ltd for the management of car parking at both Cheltenham Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

A significant component of this agreement is the design and construction of a 1000 space multi storey car park at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. It is envisaged that building works will commence in Spring 2010.

Director of Corporate Governance and Facilities, Graham Lloyd, said:

“The government are currently consulting on a number of options at the moment and we will need to await the outcome of this process.”

“What is clear is that we already do a lot of the measures that are suggested as possible outcomes of the consultation, including free parking for patients with long term conditions such as those receiving cancer treatment and subsidised rates for all patients who are in hospital for an extended period. Our car parking charges are also in line with those charged on similar sites throughout the country.”
