Industrial Action Update

Patients will be aware that a number of trade unions are taking strike action today in response to proposed Government changes to public sector workers’ pensions.
At present the industrial action is not causing any difficulty at Cheltenham General or Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals.
Any patient with an appointment today (Wednesday 30th November 2011) are urged to come in, unless contacted directly by the hospital.
Contingency plans are being followed to ensure that patient services at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals continue to be delivered safely and consistently throughout the day and we continue to monitor the number of staff who are taking action.
Some physiotherapy outpatient appointments have been cancelled – and all of these patients were contacted in advance.
