Mr. Rick Brown

Mr Rick BrownConsultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics
MA (cantab) MB BS FRCS (Tr&Orth)
Qualified London 1993

I completed my undergraduate medical training from the University of Cambridge in 1989 and graduated from King’s College Hospital, London in 1993. My specialist Orthopaedic training was at the Middlesex Hospital, Central London, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London.

I have been an established Consultant for over seven years. My interest in all Foot & Ankle conditions developed  after completing advanced training in Foot & Ankle Surgery at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and as a Fellow at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead, Sydney, Australia. I was an International Fellow at Harvard medical School, Boston, USA, for six months in 2002.

I also treat patients with knee conditions, in particular  degenerate knees requiring knee  arthroplasty. I am responsible for the Cheltenham Children’s Orthopaedic clinic, as part of a clinical network with Bristol Children’s Hospital, where I hold an Honorary contract..

I strongly believe in teaching the next generation of surgeons and am the Orthopaedic Specialty Tutor for Cheltenham. Each year  I teach surgical techniques or lecture in London, Oxford, Bristol and Cheltenham. I have been a member of the Faculty on National and International Foot and Ankle Courses.
