Dr. Bogdan Nuta
Consultant Cardiologist (cardiac devices)
MD (Bucharest 1992) BSc (1992) MRCP(UK)
Qualified Bucharest 1992.
All Postgraduate training completed in the UK, mostly in the South West. Research in arrhythmic risk stratification after myocardial infarction performed in Taunton. Further Specialist Registrar training in Cardiology in Exeter and Plymouth (Derriford Cardiothoracic Centre) with 2 years sub-speciality training in cardiac devices for heart failure and arrhythmia management.
I was appointed in Gloucestershire in May 2008 to develop the cardiac devices service in the county. Cardiac devices (bi-ventricular pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators) are now implanted in Cheltenham without the need for travel to Bristol or Oxford for the procedure or follow-up. We have now re-patriated the majority of devices patients for local follow up.
My specialist interest relates to pacing in heart failure (Biventricular pacing), implantation and programming of internal cardiac defibrillators (ICD) to treat dangerous ventricular arrhythmia and assessment of palpitations and the risk of sudden cardiac death.
