Colorectal Surgery

Introduction

Colorectal surgery involves the treatment of patients with diseases and disorders affecting the colon, rectum, or anus. These include inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), rectal prolapse and incontinence, colorectal cancer, polyp disorders, and common anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids.

Services Provided

The Colorectal Consultants are dedicated to providing compassionate, individually tailored patient care to the people of Gloucestershire. Supported by a multi-disciplinary team that works closely together to provide an accurate and timely diagnosis.

The department's team is especially sensitive to the anxieties and concerns of patients who have benign or malignant colorectal disease. When exploring treatment options, we consider your individual lifestyle and needs, and ensure every care plan is carefully reviewed and fully coordinated. At each stage, team members work closely with patients to alleviate any physical and / or emotional stress they may experience

Our dedicated staffs are here to address any questions and concerns you may have and information leaflets are available for many of the conditions seen in the department.

  • Gloucestershire Royal Hospital - Ward 5A, 5B and Day Surgery Unit

  • Cirencester Hospital - Beeches Ward
  • Lydney Hospital - Ward 5L
