Cryotherapy
Increasingly GPs have access to liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. This treatment can be useful in the treatment of:
- Viral Warts
- Molluscum Contagiosum
- Seborrhoeic Keratoses
- Solar Keratoses
- Bowen’s Disease
Liquid Nitrogen needs to be handled carefully and its use in skin lesions needs to be learnt from someone who regularly uses it. It can be an effective treatment but needs to be used carefully to prevent side effects from occurring, particularly the damage to underlying structures such as tendons while treating warts on the fingers.
