Hyperhidrosis

Mild to moderate hyperhidrosis patients should be advised to bathe regularly. Applications of surgical spirits or foot baths of potassium permanganate can prove helpful. Also advise regular change of socks and shoes. In severe hyperhidrosis, if topical treatment fails, using Anhydrol Forte or Driclor, then refer for consideration of:

1. Iontophoresis with Glycopyrronium Bromide in tap water for palms and soles. (Refer to Dermatology).

2. Botox

3. Surgical removal or axillary skin and associated sweat glands in selected patients (Plastic/General Surgeons).

4. Endoscopic transthoracic sympathectomy for severe cases.
