Spinal Cord Stimulation
One treatment that can be of use in the control of pain in some suitable patients is spinal cord stimulation. If patients from Gloucestershire are thought to have pain suitable for this technique this is done at Frenchay Hospital. Their patient information sheet is linked here.
The British Pain Society has recently produced an information booklet called Spinal Cord Stimulation for pain: information for patients (2009) which you may find useful.
The leaflet tells the patient about spinal cord stimulation and provides some information that may support the patient in decision making regarding the treatment.
