Treatments for Pain

The various treatments and approaches that we can use to try to help with pain are discussed further in the pages linked from the menu on the right.

Pain is a very complex condition and sadly it is rare for there to be a simple single treatment or intervention that will completely take pain away.  However, hopefully a treatment or combination of treatments may help to reduce pain and also, very importantly, provide a window of opportunity or reduction of pain to allow resetting of the vicious cycles maintaining pain and to improve activity and function.

We would see our role as both management of the pain but, equally important, aiding people's self management of their pain.

Various approaches can be tried, and these include Medications, Psychological Approaches, Procedures and Stimulation Produced Analgesia.
