Annual Review

You will recieve an annual review once a year.

Most Cheltenham patients are linked with Bristol, but some are linked with other hospitals.   Patients linked with Bristol, will generally recieve their annual review at Cheltenham when the Bristol CF team travel here to see you, saving you the journey there!

These joint clinics are held 4 or 5 times per year when it is essential that you attend for your allocated slot, otherwise you risk missing your annual reivew, and are likely to have to travel to Bristol for assessment.

So, what is so special about an annual review?

The Cheltenham and Bristol team will discuss all your CF needs along with many other issues in a longer than usual appointment time.

Do I have to prepare for it?

You will attend an outpatient clinic with Dr Penketh about a month prior to Annual Review,  to recieve your "work up".   This includes a number of blood tests,  and can include bone scans (DEXA), ultrasound and shuttle test.

A food diary will be sent out to you a few weeks prior to your annual reveiw,  enabling you to complete a 2 week food diary that will be discussed with the dietitian at your annual review.  Please remember to bring this with you!

What happens on the day?

As per a usual clinic visit, you'll check in as normal,  meet the HCA for height, weight, oxygen saturations, sputum and lung function.    You will then be seen by all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
