CF Nurse Service
IV's - home or hospital
Some patients are happy to administer their own IV antibiotics at home, whilst others prefer to stay in hospital for this. If you are started on IV's as an inpatient the nurses will follow you up at home and monitor your progress.
Ports
Patients that have a portocath require a monthly flush. This can be done in outpatient clinic or at home. This will be arranged by the nurses in liaison with yourself.
Specialist Advice/Referrals
The nurses are the key point in connecting you with the multidisciplinary team, whether it be your GP, the ward, social worker or dietitian. Please contact the nurses if you have any queries relating to these specialities that you may require assistance with.
