Introduction
Clinical audit is the responsibility of all clinical staff who deliver patient care. The aim of the Clinical Audit department is to support this element of clinical practice by:
- facilitating the use of evidence
- providing practical advice and guidance on the use of the audit process
- providing expert knowledge on data collection and statistical analysis
- assisting in the identification of appropriateness and intention of individual projects
- providing practical assistance in final reports, publication and presentation
- co-ordinating audit activity to ensure experiences are shared
- providing links with and knowledge of developments which affect audit, such as: Research & Development, Risk, Clinical Effectiveness, national and local regulatory guidance and Ethics.
Our staff come from a variety of backgrounds and aim to share their expertise on audit and advise on the process of individual audit projects.

Training
The Clinical Audit Department is able to provide a wide variety of training, tailored specifically to the needs of your unit or group.
Clinical Audit Roadshow
There is a standard Clinical Audit Roadshow, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, that gives a brief introduction to clinical audit. It explains how to tackle an audit project and some of the common difficulties experienced. A presentation is available on request or it can be tailored to suit the requirements of your group.
Training Sessions
The Clinical audit team are willing to run education and training sessions as required, each session lasts no more than 30 minutes. They can be held at CGH or GRH.
