Current Awareness Bulletin

Contact library staff to receive a weekly Pharmacology email bulletin which provides details of new research published in the top 5 quality journals as well as details of any relevant articles published in The Lancet, BMJ, NEJM, JAMA and Cochrane Reviews.

Useful Websites

Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency: contains current safety warnings, adverse drug reaction information, drug alerts and patient information
National electronic Library for Medicines (NeLM): includes evidence-based reviews on drugs and drug therapy and health promotion material. It also provides a facililty for sharing practice
National Prescribing Centre (NPC): has e-learning (slide presentations) related to QIPP and a link to the MeReC bulletin
Royal Pharmaceutical Society: professional and regulatory body for pharmacists in England, Scotland and Wales
www.medicines.org.uk: provides information on medicines including the electronic Medicines Compendium with summaries of product characteristics
www.formulary.glos.nhs.uk:  A Joint Formulary used by all NHS prescribers in Gloucestershire to promote evidence-based, safe, cost-effective prescribing
