The main priority areas for the RSS include supporting research, especially preparation of proposals for research approval, provision of support for novice researchers and the provision of some research training. These aspects of the RSS work are still seen to be priorities and are considered to form part of the core functions of the unit.
In addition to these we also try to income generate through commissioned projects and grant proposals by:
- Carrying out tasks associated with projects, such as data entry, data analysis and project management
- Commissioned projects
- Service level agreements for specific activities
The RSS also provides a focus for the interpretation and local implementation of national policy, strategic developments.
