Continuous Professional Development

Whilst it should be recognised that the Corporate and Service Delivery training needs will take priority, managers should also be mindful of the other professional development needs of their workforce. These needs should be identified during the appraisal process. Although managers may not be in a position to be able to provide this additional training, financially or in release time they can, with the support of Professional Education, assist the individual in identifying training resources to meet their needs.

Training Resources

Once managers have completed their Training Needs Analysis for the demand forecast and submitted them to Professional Education, we will work with managers in identifying the training resources.

E-Learning

The majority of the training required could be accessed through the Trust internal E-Learning platform, the Learning4Health Platform and other national E-Learning Platforms available to Trust Staff.

In- House Training

Where there has been an identified generic need for training i.e. Safeguarding Children, the Professional Education department will work with the subject matter experts in order to deliver in- house training. This will be a blended learning approach using E-Learning, Face-to-Face delivery, Workshops and Action Learning Sets.

There are a number of Professonal Education department training courses and an application form is available below. A list of the courses available appears on the front page of this web site.
